Recent Successes

The Planning Helpline is run by Zyda Law, an expert planning and environmental Law firm. Below we have summarised some of the developments which the Zyda Law team have made happen so that you can be confident that we can achieve planning permission for even the most controversial developments.

The Planning Helpline was instructed to appeal against a planning enforcement notice issued by Epping Forest District Council following the construction of a family football pitch behind our client’s house. We managed the whole process from start to finish and managed to get the enforcement notice withdrawn due to a fundamental error in the plan. In addition, we successfully applied for and won our client’s full appeal costs, which is extremely unusual in a planning appeal and means that our clients won’t be out of pocket due to the Council’s unreasonable behaviour either.

Enforcement Notice Withdrawn, Full Costs Awarded – February 2017

Our client was granted planning permission for the conversion of his existing house in Leeds into three new apartments. However, the Council later contacted him to say that there had been a mistake and tried to revoke his planning permission, even though over £25,000 had already been spent implementing the project. The Planning Helpline was instructed to defend our client’s position and resist the revocation. We were able to defend not only the planning merits of the project – including collaboration with one of the country’s leading transport engineers – but also to assess the complicated compensation position, which the Council had not considered.

 

We successfully persuaded the Council to withdraw the revocation order and obtained a costs award to reimburse our client for his full expenses of objecting to the revocation. The project is now proceeding towards a successful completion later this year.
